Learning In Public
For as long as I've known myself and want l wanted to be doing as work, its always been programming. My mom got a computer when I was about 5 years old and I was in love. I had no idea what it was but something explicable drew me to it. It was white, it had a huge back and a CPU that sat on the floor under the desk. There was no internet on that computer but I sat in front of it any chance I got. There and then, I knew this piece of plastic was gonna be in my life for a while.
Fast forward 22 years and I'm still glued to computers. I build software and I love it. And to me, the most fascinating thing computing has taught me is about my ability to persevere when the going gets tough and pick myself up when I fail. Believe it or not, there was a time when I was a teenager and didn't believe anyone would pay town to code. Now, live in Germany writing code.
Nothing is for free and for every success, there has been 1001 failures. So I'm starting this series where I learn in public, talk about things I'm learning, struggling with, trying to get better at etc. I'm doing this for my 16 year old self who when she learned about programming and it's joys was scared and worried shitless and doubted her ability to do it
There's so much I don't know and the only way forward is through.
Until next time,
Chi ❤️
