The Law Of Attraction
I've always been a fan of the mind. The mind is the most powerful instrument we possess as humans. Its a part of us that no one else has access to. You can be standing in front of someone, having a conversation with them but the only way they can get access to what you are thinking is by speaking; no one has access to your inner thoughts and I've come to realize that that is a superpower.
I've been a follower of the law of attraction from the very first moment I heard about The Secret.
In 2011, someone (I can't remember who) gave me the book to read and I remember laying in bed all day reading this book and taking the principles in.
Law of Attraction states that whatever you think about, you attract.
I wanted to test this principle out and see if it'll work for me so I decided to think of something I wanted.
At the time, I was a lanky 17 year old who really really wanted an iPod. I definitely couldn't afford it and there was no way my parents were going to give me the money to buy one so all I had going for me were my thoughts.
What could go wrong, I thought to myself.
The eyes are the gateway to the mind and to implant thoughts into your mind, you have to visibly see that which you want.
We had a magazine at home that had a picture of an iPod so I cut it out and pasted it in my journal and wrote out a goal.
I want an iPod before May 2011.
I learnt about the law of attration and wrote out that goal in January of 2011.
Every morning when I'd wake up, I'd open up my journal, see the cutout of the iPod, close my eyes and imagine myself with the iPod (playing games on it, listening to music, watching movies etc). I would think about these things and most importantly, feel the feeling of having it. I continued this practice everyday.
3 weeks after I wrote down what I wanted and started thinking and feeling like I had it, a miracle happened.
I was at school and I was returning to my hostel after a study session and getting close to my room, I saw a ruckus. Immediately I was sighted, a girl came towards me and said my boyfriend wanted me to have something. I wasn't expecting anything from my boyfriend so I was a little confused but I thanked her and entered my room. My friends were all so hyped to see what it was so I opened the box eagerly and to my utmost surprise, it was a brand new iPod. I remember my friends jumping up and down and all I could think to myself was
This really works, this isn't a fluke. This shit really works.
I hardly slept a wink that night, it was like I had found a superpower, a superpower that I could harness and get whatever I wanted. I would never forget that day in my life as it became the turning point for me.
I am 26 years old right now and for 9 years, I have lived my life with this principle and I will continue to do so. I have gotten/done things that people and sometimes myself, doubted that I could accomplish. I have traveled to places, spoken to audiences, impacted people, gotten higher paying jobs, switched countries, made huge financial investments with nothing but the thoughts I keep in my mind.
No one has access to my thoughts so I'm free to think the craziest of things and manifest it to reality without any unnecessary input from others.
My advice: Read the book or watch the documentary, apply the lessons and change your life forever.
I'll leave you with this
Thoughts become things. If you can see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hands.
